Pangasius export increase sharply
On 20 Sep, Mr. Duong Ngoc Minh Chief of executive board of pangasius export to Russia said, Russian importers have just announced that they will increase import of pangasius in September and October 2009 to 2.5 folds against previous months and price will also be increased 3 cents per kilo.

Vietnamese catfish will have competitor
According to Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters & Processors, fishermen in Lanao Del Norte (Philippine) are encouraged to farm pangasius, for short term, this kind of fish will be for domestic market and then for export. Pangasius has big potential for export, only after tuna. This kind of fish was firstly farmed in Mekong River of Vietnam and then was successfully farmed in many regions.
